Patna,(BiharTimes): In another election eve gift the Bihar cabinet on Friday approved increasing monthly honorarium of the Zila Parishad president from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000, Zila Parishad vice-president from Rs 6,000 to 10,000, Panchayat Samiti Pramukh from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000, Panchayati Samiti Deputy Pramukh from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000, Gram Panchayat Mukhiya from Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,500, Deputy Mukhiya Rs 600 to Rs 1,200, Gram Kutchery Sarpanch from Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,500, Deputy Sarpanch from Rs 600 to Rs 1,200 and that of the Zila Parishad member from Rs 200 to Rs 2,500 (monthly fixed TA and DA).It will cost an additional financial burden of Rs 228 crore per
annum on the state exchequer.There are around 8,400 panchayats in Bihar.
