Transfer at Lalu’s instance, alleges SuMo; Vashistha hits back

Patna,(BiharTimes): BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday alleged that the state government had on Saturday transferred 46 IAS and 43 IPS officers at the instance of Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad.

Talking to the media SuMo claimed that the RJD had been putting pressure on the Nitish Kumar government to transfer officials for the last one and a half months. The state government had succumbed under the pressure and shifted all the honest and upright officers from the districts and had posted those who are close to RJD and ruling JD(U).

He said that as a team of Election Commission led by the Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi is to visit the state in a few days and Model Code of Condcut could come into effect anyday the state government had transferred officials in such a large number.

Another party leader, Dr C P Thakur, also flayed the transfer of IAS and IPS officers and attributed them to the pressure from RJD.

However, the state JD(U) chief Vashistha Narayan Singh reacted strongly to Sushil Modi’s allegation. He said that transfer and posting are routine administrative job and they have nothing to do with the Assembly election or any pressure. As Sushil Modi wants to remain alive in the media he levels baseless charges. He considers it his religious duty to open his mouth on all the issues, the JD(U) leader said.
