Partially complete Bihar Museum to be inaugurated on August 7

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar’s dream project, the Bihar Museum, would be inaugurated on August 7. Sources say that only three of its portions would be opened, as work on the rest is still going on.

The state government appears to be in a haste as it wanted it to be thrown open before the announcement of Assembly election dates.

Earlier this world-class museum was expected to be inaugurated on July 30.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of this Rs 530 crore ambitious project on July 9, 2013, that is just three wekks after he snapped ties with the BJP.

Bihar Diwas, 2015, that is March 22 was fixed as the deadline for the completion of the project, but the state government missed the deadline.

Interestingly, former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was dead against the construction of Bihar Museum and Convention Centre near Gandhi Maidan as he used to call it waste of money of poor people of Bihar.

Even a PIL was filed in the Patna high court against its construction.

Media reports suggest that children’s section, main entrance area and orientation theatre would be open by August 7.

As reported the Museum would house rare statues and sculptors available at the Patna Museum and elsewhere in the state.
