Patna,(BiharTimes): The wife of Shatrughan Sinha, Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Patna Saheb, is likely to contest on the Janata Dal (United) ticket from either Digha or Bankipur Assembly segment of his husband’s parliamentary constituency.

According to Delhi-based weekly newspaper, Sunday Guardian, Poonam Sinha may contest on the ruling party ticket as Bihari Babu is himself feeling sidelined in the saffron party with whom he has a long association.

Though Shatrughan Sinha’s PA denied the possibility of Poonam fighting Assembly elections on JD(U) ticket two quick meetings between Shotgun and Bihar chief minister sparked off speculations about his relationship with his own party. Not only that Shatru attended the Kayastha caste meeting organized by both RJD and JD(U) on July 26 last. He even shared dais with Lalu Prasad on this occasion. In contrast he did not attend a similar caste meeting organized by the BJP.

Poonam, a 1968 Miss Young India, has worked in a few films. She comes from a reputed Sindhi family and the couple have two sons, Luv and Kush, and actress daughter Sonakshi Sinha.
