When outgoing Chief Justice of Patna high court and judge indulge in wordy duel

Patna,(BiharTimes): It is not only in politics that the ‘below the belt’ attack is on at the top-most level.

A serving judge of Patna high court Justice Dharnidhar Jha, in a letter dated August 1, 2015, launched a scathing attack on the outgoing Chief Justice, Justice L Narasimha Reddy, alleging that he was a “Moghal Baadshah” (Emperor). In fact the outburst came after Justice Jha was invited at the farewell function organized a day after Justice Reddy’s retirement on July 31 last. Justice Jha not only skipped the function, he wrote a letter to Akhauri Mangla Charan Shrivastava, Chairman of the Bihar State Bar Council, who had invited all judges to a function on August 1.

The four-page letter said: “Shri Reddy didn’t deserve my participation in the farewell party.”
He charged the outgoing Chief Justice of destroying the entire high court administration and judicial process. Not only that mis-management had reached its peak and Justice Reddy threw all norms and rules to the wind.
