It will be 'Mandal Raj-2 not Jungle Raj': Lalu to Modi

Patna, Aug 9 (IANS) Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday said the RJD-JD(U) alliance was all set to give a tough time to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led 'Kamandal' in the upcoming Bihar assembly polls.

Contradicting the prime minister's prediction of the state of affairs in Bihar after the upcoming assembly elections, Lalu Prasad said it would rather be "Mandal Raj-2" instead of "Jungle Raj-2".

The former Bihar chief minister's reaction came in response to Modi, who said at a rally in Gaya on Sunday that there was a strong likelihood of destruction and disaster's reoccurrence in the state if 'jungle raj part-II' returned to Bihar, obliquely referring to the RJD-JD-U alliance.

Lalu said Modi and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance were worried of Mandal Raj-2 and trying to create fear in the mind of people with mispropaganda.

"The upcoming Bihar polls will be Mandalraj versus Kamandalraj. We will show our strength to them," Lalu told media after Modi targeted his party and ruling Janata Dal-United's alliance (RJD-JD-U).

Lalu Prasad said he had already exhorted the people from the 'Mandal' (the backward classes) to rise and uproot the 'kamandal' (anti-backward classes BJP).

He said Modi had lowered the stature of the prime minister's post by using such language in a public speech.
