SuMo charges Prashant Kishor, minister with intimidating, blackmailing media

Patna,(BiharTimes): Leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday launched a direct attack on Prashant Kishor, who heads Janata Dal (United)’s high-level campaign team and information and public relations department
minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and accused them of blackmailing and intimidating media-houses to publish the ruling party’s materials.
Talking to media SuMo said that Nitish Kumar is indulging in such action as he had failed to win over the people of the state.
According to the former deputy chief minister Nitish can not stand criticism by the media, so his men have resorted to intimidation and blackmailing the Press. He accused the JD(U) campaign team of threatening the media that the state government would stop advertisements.
SuMo said that his party would take up the matter with public and consider sitting on sit-in (dharna) before the Press Council of India in New Delhi to expose the Nitish government’s brazen ways to submit the media to its whims and fancies.
The former state’s finance minister also appealed to the media-houses not to buckle under pressure to the dictatorial policies of the chief minister.
The BJP leader charged that Prashant Kishor and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary were running the Information and Public Relations Department like the publicity wing of the JD(U).
He said there is no justification for the state government to hold events like Bihar Development Dialogue at the fag end of its tenure.
