RJD-ization of BJP continues; fodder scam convict R K Rana’s son join saffron brigade

Patna,(BiharTimes): The son of fodder scam convict R K Rana on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of state unit president Mangal Pandey and Union minister Ram Kripal Yadav. Amit Rana, who had joined the Janata Dal (United) last year crossed over to the BJP with his supporters.

Amit’s father, R K Rana was a veterinary doctor and good friend of both Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar in early 1990s. However, when the then Janata Dal split he went over to join the rank of Lalu Prasad and later became MP.

In June 2013 he was convicted to five years imprisonment in a fodder scam case. Later the same year RJD chief too was convicted.

Not only Amit, but the son of other scam accused joined the BJP. He is Ratan Kumar Tulsi, son of late Mahavir Prasad, a minister in Lalu’s cabinet, who faced charges for involvement in drug supplies scam.
However, strong resentment is brewing up within the BJP over the manner in which the party has thrown its door open for all the controversial figures or their family members. The saffron party has already joined hands with Pappu Yadav and Jitan Ram Manjhi, whom they used to criticise till a few months back.

These BJP leaders, who wished not to be quoted are holding Sushil Kumar Modi, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Nand Kishore Yadav responsible for the induction of some unwanted elements into the party.

However, while talking to a section of media Mangal Pandey, said the party has not inducted any tainted person like R K Rana but his son.
