Patna,(BiharTimes): RJD chief Lalu Prasad made Rabri Devi the chief minister of Bihar a few days before he was to surrender in fodder scam case in July 1997. She is still toeing the line of her husband.
But his former lieutenant and now expelled RJD MP from Madhepura, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, has adopted a totally different approach. Following the policy of promoting family politics––he once even put up his mother as a candidate––Pappu groomed his wife, Ranjeet Ranjan, and helped her become MP from neighbouring Supaul––but on the ticket of Congress ..

However, after getting her elected as MP he has now allowed his wife to take her own political line––at least it seems.

While he is openly supporting prime minister Narendra Modi and denouncing Nitish-Lalu (NiLa) combine in Bihar his wife and Congress MP is among the parliamentarians creating ruckus in Lok Sabha. She was among the 25 MPs, who was last week suspended by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. In contrast the Union home ministry upgraded Pappu’s security to Y-category for obvious reasons. Though Pappu’s outfit, Jan Adhikar Party, is yet to become an NDA constituent, it is clear whom he is favouring in Bihar.
India has a history of husband and wife adopting different political line. Indira Gandhi and husband Feroze Gandhi are the most important such couple.

But the big question is: Is Pappu and Ranjeet working independently or are they just playing some different game.
