BJP questions Bihar CM's 'ungratefulness' to Rs.1.25 lakh crore package

New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS) Taking a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his remarks about the Rs.1.25 lakh crore Bihar package announced by the prime minister, the BJP on Wednesday said "thank you and welcome" seem to have gone missing from his dictionary.

"The whole Bihar is celebrating the package announced by the prime minister but Nitish Kumar is criticising it," BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said in a press conference here.

"After every rally of Modiji, Kumar addresses a press conference and criticises him. We were expecting that he would welcome the announcement but now it seems that words like 'thank you' and 'welcome' are missing from his dictionary," he added.

Nitish Kumar on Tuesday raised questions about Modi's announcement of the package for Bihar as he tweeted: "While I will wait to hear the details of the so-called package announced by Modi, I emphasise (that) special assistance is our right and not a favour."

Taking a potshot at Nitish over his frequent meetings with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, the BJP leader said: "Nitish has no time to meet the people of Bihar. He runs away to Delhi rather than visiting Bihar."

"He thinks he can defeat BJP in forthcoming election by meeting Kejriwal, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi," he added.

He also said that even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going out among people and talking about his works, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader (Nitish Kumar) was depending on his meetings with political leaders ahead of the Bihar assembly polls.
