Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as the chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday supported the demand of reservation for Patels in Gujarat the national president of Janata Dal (United) Sharad Yadav on the same day opposed it on the plea that Patels and Pataidars are well off castes and should not get this benefit.

While campaigning for the August 30 rally of the grand alliance he said in Saharsa that Patels and Patidars are well-off community and they should not agitate for quota.

But JD (U) spokesman Ajay Alok denied that Sharad and Nitish had divergent views on this issue.

According to the spokesman Sharad must have said violent agitations over such issues should be avoided. The media is distorting his statement.
