Upset Shyam Rajak skips JD(U) national executive meeting

Patna,(BiharTimes): In a significant step former minister and Janata Dal (United) national general secretary, Shyam Rajak, virtually boycotted the two-day (Dec 20-21) national executive meeting of the party in New Delhi.

Though he told mediapersons that he would not be attending the meeting because of his pre-occupation in his Assembly constituency, Phulwarisharif, and a function organized to mark the birthday of a Dalit icon, what he left unsaid is more important. He even denied that this move has anything to do with his non-inclusion in the Nitish Kumar cabinet.

He accepted that he had received invitation to attend the meeting but rather sarcastically added that there are many senior party leaders who would be present on the occasion.

The national executive committee meeting will, inter alia, discuss the party’s expansion plan in other states and change of its symbol from ‘arrow’ to either ‘wheel’ or ‘banyan tree’.
