Patna,(BiharTimes): A large number of people gathered at the trial run of a pilot engine from Jamalpur to Sabdalpur, a stretch of over three km, on the rail-cum-road bridge over river Ganga in Munger district on Sunday to test the track fitness.

Senior railway officials, including chief administrative officer (construction) L M Jha, supervised the trial run.

The bridge will connect Munger with Khagaria and Begusarai districts of north Bihar.

The rail-cum-road bridge over river Ganga between Digha and Sonepur is also likely to be thrown open next year.
