No political meaning should be attached to her praise for Manjhi: Uma Bharati

Patna,(BiharTimes): Within hours of praising Bihar chief minister for doing very good work Union water resources minister Uma Bharati said on Monday that no political meaning should be attached to her statement.

She said that prime minister Narendra Modi used to say that politics should come just six months before the election and in the rest four and a half years development should be the agenda. In that respect Manjhi is the “adarsh udahran (ideal example).”

Earlier on Monday, after holding a meeting on problem related to flood, drought, Ganga Action Plan etc with Manjhi, the Union minister called him: “Gareeb parivar se nikle hua vyakti hain, gareebon ke massiha hain.(He comes from a poor family and is a messiah of poor). She went on to call Manjhi a performer, who can be “Vikas ka Adarsh.”.

After 40 minutes long meeting with Manjhi, in which irrigation minister Vijay Chaudhary was also present, she offered all help to Bihar in fighting flood, drought and the pollution of Ganga and other related problems.Uma said that she would do everything to remove drought and flood in Bihar and would do everything for the cleaning of Ganga.

Manjhi, on his part, expressed his satisfaction over the approach of Bharati towards Bihar. He said that problems related to the rivers originating from other states also came up during the discussion.Political observers are of the view that Uma Bharati diluted her stand only after being advised by the state unit that she had gone too far in her praise for CM on the day when a senior BJP leader of Munger was killed by criminals. So when the reporters asked her later in the day about her “gareebon ke massiha” remarks she just replied: “Kaha hoga…hum deny nahin karenge (Might have said so. I will not deny).
