Sharad, Manjhi deny reports on leadership change

Patna,(BiharTimes): The national president of Janata Dal (United), Sharad Yadav, chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and national spokesman of the party, K C Tyagi, once again denied reports appearing in a section of Press that the Janata Dal (United) legislative party leader is about to be changed, and that Nitish Kumar is once again going to take the command of Bihar.

Talking to the media after the close door meeting between Sharad and Manjhi late on Wednesday night the party chief said that the removal of chief minister was not at all in the agenda.

Commenting on a report published in a national English daily about the replacement of CM, both Sharad and Tyagi said that it is totally baseless and there is no such possibility whatsoever.

On minister Ramai Ram’s statement about the likely replacement of Manjhi the party chief said: “What I am saying should be believed.”Manjhi, on his part, told the media that he does not have any knowledge whatsoever about his replacement. He said that he does not know where the news appeared. “I am the chief minister and working,” he replied.

On the other hand Tyagi clarified that Manjhi would continue to function. He said that no such meeting took place to remove CM and added that Nitish’s meeting with the Lok Sabha candidates earlier in the day has nothing to do with the change of leadership in Bihar.

On the absence of Manjhi, who too contested from Gaya last year, Tyage said “Manjhi as the chief minister is to big to be an MP so he was not present.”It was only on Tuesday that the BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that he had definite information that Manjhi would be replaced before February 15.
