Manjhi refuses to quit, favours JD(U)LP meet

Patna,(BiharTimes): Sources from within Janata Dal (United) suggest that chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has refused to quit his post. Instead he is in favour of calling the meeting of the Janata Dal (United) Legislative Party to his strength.

Reports also said that the party’s national chief Sharad Yadav once again had a meeting with Manjhi at his 1, Anne Marg residence on Thursday. He went out from the backdoor of CM’s residence to enter the 7, Circular Road residence of Nitish Kumar.

On the other hand the Secretary General of Janata Dal (United) K C Tyagi said: “We do not ask anyone to resign. There is no culture of seeking resignation. People offer it on their own. Nitish himself resigned and nobody asked for it.”

Tyagi talked of ‘tyag’ (sacrifice) given by the Socialist stalwarts Lohia, JP and Karpoori. He also confirmed that Mulayam talked to Nitish. His message was loud and clear: that the party expects similar sacrifice from Manjhi.

Reports also said that Manjhi was offered an important organizational post and a cabinet berth to one member of his family, but he reportedly refused it.
