Bribe offer to MLA: JD(U) releases tape with Pappu’s voice

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) on Thursday charged the RJD dissident MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav with making bribe offer to the Janata Dal (United) MLAs. A day ahead of the trial of strength in the state Assembly the party state chief Vashistha Narayan Singh released to the media an auto-tape in which Pappu was heard offering the JD(U) MLA from Seohar, Sharfuddin, , post and Rs one crore if he supports chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on February 20.

The MLA himself was present during the Press conference.Along with BJP leaders, Pappu Yadav and former Rajya Sabha MP of JD(U), Sabir Ali, have openly been siding with Manjhi. Reports said that the RJD leadership has taken the issue seriously. The party chief, Lalu Prasad, who is in New Delhi to make arrangement for the marriage of his youngest daughter, is likely to take action against Pappu after the
trust vote. However, Pappu hotly denied that he had made any offer of money. He said that if the charge is proved he would quit (sanyas) from politics.

He said that Sharfuddin had rang him up though he did not know the MLA.Pappu also claimed that “My leader had to support under compulsion.”On the other hand the JD(U) said that he would release some more such tapes.
