Abhayanand retires after 37 years service

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Director General of Police Abhayanand retired on the last day of 2014 after 37 years in service.He was Director General (Home Guards and Fire Services) at the time of retirement.
Abhayanand took over as DGP of Bihar after Neelmani retired on August 31, 2011 but was sifted to Home Guards and Fire Services as its DG in June 2014 after Jitan Ram Manjhi became the chief minister.

Abhayanand and his father Jagdanand, originally from Gaya district, have the rare distinction of serving as the DGP of Bihar. The father retired in 1986.

A 1977 batch IPS Abhayanand was given a warm farewell by his department at a function at the BMP-5 ground.

DGP P K Thakur and other senior police officials wished him health and happiness.
Though he served as a super-cop of Bihar he is known more for his association first with Super-30 then with Rahmani-30, Magadh-30 and other such coaching for IIT-JEE aspirants.
