BJP to hold public rally in Gandhi Maidan on April 14

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party will organize a public meeting at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on April 14 next. This decision was taken at the meeting of the core group from Bihar presided over by the party’s national president, Amit Shah in New Delhi on Sunday.

The party has set a target of enrolling 75 lakh members by March 31.Amit Shah is to pay a visit to the state on January 23-24. He is to attend the birth anniversary of late chief minister Karpoori Thakur, apparently to woo the extreme backward caste votes.

The party discussed the strategy to achieve the target of winning 185 seats in the next Assembly election. The BJP had won 22 seats in the last Lok Sabha election and its allies LJP six and RLSP three.
Those who attended the meeting included Sushil Kumar Modi,

Nand Kumar Yadav and Mangal Pandey, besides state in-charge Bhupinder Yadav and Union ministers from Bihar Radha Mohan Singh, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Ram Kripal Yadav and former minister Shahnawaz Hussain.

Reports suggest that the BJP leaders are taking the challenge of the combine force of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad quite seriously. If the idea of merger really clicks and JD(U) manages to keep its house in order the BJP may not perform as better. Much also depends whether Narendra Modi will continue to get the same amount of mass support as in the last Lok Sabha election.
