Muzaffarpur riots a fall-out of Nitish-Manjhi tussle: BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): All senior BJP leaders, be it former deputy CM Sushil Modi, Union minister of state for skill development Rajiv Pratap Rudy and former Union minister Shahnawaz Husain, have said that the communal riots in Muzaffarpur village was the fall out of the power tussle between chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and former chief minister Nitish Kumar.

They all held the state administration responsible for the incident.SuMo said that never in the recent memory in Bihar such an unruly mob had indulged in riots leading to roasting alive of three people and torching of a large number of houses. He said that instead of Rs five lakh the state government should pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation to all those who lost their lives.

Sushil Modi, after meeting the family members of the victims of Azizpur violence, said that due to political uncertainty administrative machinery had ceased to work in Bihar. There is chaos and confusion and things are going out of control in the state. This reminds one of the RJD years, he added.Shahnawaz Husain said that the JD(U) government in the state is busy in squabbling and nobody has time to look into the affairs of administration. Such sad and unfortunate incident had never occurred in Bihar in the last so many years.

“Both Nitish Kumar and Manjhi will now have to answer. Why no action has been taken against any official till now?” he said adding Nitish used to flay others, why he is not doing anything now. The incident is unfortunate and Muzaffarpur had never witnessed such type of violence.

Union minister Rudy also said that Muzaffarpur violence was a result of deteriorating law and order situation. He said that the Ganga-Yamuni culture had been a part of the cultural fabric and ethos of India, but attempts are being made to tear it apart.
