Lalu opposes judicial probe into Azizpur riots

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday opposed the demand for judicial inquiry into the communal riots at Azizpur village in Muzaffarpur district in which four people were killed last Sunday.

Talking to the media after meeting the victims of the riots in Azizpur he said that the judicial inquiries reveal nothing and most of them need to be consigned to dustbin. He asked the mediapersons to wait till the internal inquiry is completed.

He wondered as to why it took four to five hours for the police to reach the troubled spot. He was surprised as to how such a large crowd of rioters assembled to attack the villagers. He demanded the use of sniffer dog to nab all the rioters involved in the riots saying that he pressed into service these dogs to catch all those involved in the Sitamarhi riots (of Oct 6, 1992).Lalu said that the victims need all help and sympathy and criticized the BJP for politicizing the incident.
