JD(U) spokesman upset over Manjhi’s praise for Centre

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s praise for the Centre for elevating the status of Rajendra Agricultural University into a central university has been criticized by the party spokesman.Talking to the media after the signing of MoU on Sunday Manjhi said he was thankful to the Union government. “If this causes stomach ache to someone, let it be so. If we have to get work done by the Centre, we will have to thank it,” he added.

Manjhi’s teasing remarks did not go down well in the Nitish Kumar camp compelling one of JD(U) spokemen, Neeraj Kumar, to react.“Whatever the Centre is giving to Bihar is our right. It is not alms,” the spokesman said.He advised the chief minister to “desist from saying such things as he was a nominated chief minister and not an elected one. He should not say anything that can compromise the agenda of governance.

A few ministers of the Nitish Kumar camp and JD(U) leaders known to be Manjhi detractors had raised questions as to why the CM thanked the Centre for anything and everything
