School director lynching: Six arrested, case lodged against 400

Patna,(BiharTimes): Six persons were arrested and FIR against more than 400 lodged on Wednesday for leading a violent protest at Nirpur village in Nalanda district after the bodies of two boys of the schools were recovered from a pond on the school campus.
The director of Nalanda-based Devendra Public School, Devendra Prasad Sinha, was lynched by the mob.
After the recovery of bodies Devendra reached the school premises in a police patrol car, but a strong crowd pulled him out and lynched him in full public view.
According to eyewitnesses the police stood by as mute spectators.
The FIR lodged by the SHO alleged that the mob damaged official vehicles of the district magis-trate and the superintendent of police. They also tried to torch vehicles with drivers inside and in-jured three constables.
The police complaint names 13 local private-school owners. A team of forensic experts have collected blood samples.
The daughter of late director, Swarnlata, has squarely blamed the police for the killing of his father as he died when he came in police custody.
She has prayed to chief minister Nitish Kumar to recommend a CBI probe into the death of her fa-ther because he was lynched in the presence of police officials who were silent spectators.
Sinha’s wife also lodged a police complaint against DPS principal Pramila Sinha, Nalanda SHO Sunil Kumar Nirjhar, Pramila’s brother Jeet Kumar, the driver of school vehicle Pappu and eight others.
