Nitish launches ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign of JD(U)

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday launched ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ programme of the ruling Janata Dal (United) in the state capital.

Under the programme the chief minister knocked at the door of 10 houses.

Before starting the programme the chief minister went to Badi Patan Devi temple in Patna City where he offered prayer and sought ‘Ashirwaad’ (blessing).

He then knocked at door of 10 houses near Pachim Darwaza and listened to the problems of the peope. He told the me-diapersons that the programme was getting better response than expected. He said that his party workers would reach one crore houses in the next 21 days. So as a disciplined party workers he too has decided to reach as many houses as possible.

The chief minister also offered ‘chaadar’ at the Khanqah in Mangal Talab.

Nitish first stopped at the house of Krishna Sahu. He asked them if they were satisfied with the work done by his gov-ernment in the past 10 years and also sought views about the future course of action. He then moved on to the other households in the locality.

State party chief Vashistha Narayan Singh, who formally launched the campaign at the party headquarters, said by listening to the view of the people “we get new ‘shakti’ (energy).”

Party MPs Pavan Varma and RCP Sinha were also present on the occasion.

Thousands of party workers, leaders, ministers, MPs and legislators have been involved in knocking on people's doors to personally reach out to them.

However, the leader of opposition in the state Assembly and local BJP MLA, Nand Kishore Yadav, strongly criticized the chief minister’s programme, which he claimed failed to yield any response.

He asked why not Nitish visited the houses of six tribals killed in Bagaha police firing, those killed in the Hunkar rally blasts, in Gandhi Maidan stampede, and the children who died in the mid-day meal tragedy.
The Janata Dal(United) simultaneously launched the cam-paign all over the state where they reached 10,000 house-holds.

In Sasaram health minister Ramdhani Singh started the campaign, where he came down heavily on the Narendra Modi government for its failure on all the fronts.
