Patna,(BiharTimes): After Anant Singh another JD(U) MLA belonging to the same caste, Narendra Pandey alias Sunil Pandey, is under scanner.

He has been accused of facilitating the escape of notorious gangster Sachidanand Sharma alias Lambu Sharma from the judicial custody of Ara civil court after a blast on January 23 last. A woman, Nagina, and a police constable, Amit Kumar, were killed and 16 others injured in the incident.

It was after this incident that the governor sought report from the then Jitan Ram Manjhi government.

According to reports Lambu, a resident of Piro in Bhojpur district, confessed during the interrogators that Sunil Pandey, whose name also figured in the killing of the Ranvir Sena chief, Brahmeshwar Singh, had given him a contract for eliminating Uttar Pradesh don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who is at present lodged in Agra central jail.

Sharma was reportedly promised to pay Rs 50 lakh to ac-complish the task.

He also revealed that he had stayed at the residence of JD(U) MP in New Delhi for three months after his escape from the Ara court.

Additional director-general (Headquarters) Sunil Kumar said on Wednesday that the role of Sunil Pandey was being investigated by the police. If required he may be interrogated.

Lambu was arrested in a joint operation by Delhi Police and Bihar Police.

Sharma (24) had escaped from Ara court in July 2009 too.
