Bihar boy is India topper among male candidates


Patna,(BiharTimes): The male Civil Services topper of India this year is, Suharsha Bhagat, from Samastipur in Bihar. He stood fifth as the first four positions have been captured by female candidates.
Son of Dr Phulendra Bhagat, a medical practitioner, and Madhu Bha-gat, who runs a school in Samastipur, he is at present undergoing IRS (Income Tax) training in Nagpur. After initial schooling from home-town he did his Xth from Rama Krishna Mission School in Deoghar and XII from DPS R K Puram, New Delhi. He did his a Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2010.
In 2011 Suharsha, who is now 27, got selected in the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. In 2012, he took the exam again and got into Indian Information Service. In 2013, he got into the IRS and finally IAS in 2014.
His younger brother Niket Harsha is pursuing MS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.
Neha from Patna got 22nd rank. This was her third attempt. She is the daughter of Dilip Singh, an engineer in Jamshedpur and Geeta Singh. She did her schooling from St Michael’s High School, Patna and her engineering from BITS Pilani.
Kantesh Kumar Mishra from Ara is ranked 103. He is son of Dharma Deo Mishra and Rajkumari Mishra, Kantesh is working as an IT officer in UCO Bank, Calcutta, for the past three years. Kantesh belongs to Mahuaon, the village of former chief minister Bindeshwari Dubey.
Raju Mishra 65, Rohan Kumar Jha, 95, Sukriti Madhav 200, Ankita Shri 214, Satya Mohan 681 and Manish Kumar 890 are all from Bihar.
Ghuncha Sanobar, who ranked 424 is the daughter of former Patna SP, Anwar Husain. She did engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, in 2012, and took Geography as an optional subject. It was her second attempt.
Ankit Pandey from Patna is ranked 523. He has done his schooling from DAV BSEB and St Michael’s High School. He did his graduation from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. His subject in the exam was Accountancy.
Viraj Singh, the younger brother of Patna senior superintendent of po-lice Vikas Vaibhav, got 593rd position. This was his fifth attempt.
Shlok Kumar, who is currently on training as an IPS officer of the UP cadre, has secured 137th rank. He think he might get Indian Foreign Service, but is in a dilemma because UP is a good cadre and nearer home.
He is son of IAS officer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh and Vidushi Prasad.
He passed Class X from Don Bosco Academy and Class XII from St Mi-chael’s High School in Patna.
Pitambar Kumar of Patwa Toli, Gaya––otherwise famous for producing IITians––is ranked 754. It is after 27 years that someone has cleared the UPSC exam from Patwa Toli.
