Nitish Kumar’s hoardings contradicts him

Patna,(BiharTimes): Not long back Nitish Kumar used to criticize RJD chief Lalu Prasad when big hoardings and billboards would come up at various places in Patna on the occasionof rallies and ‘raillas’.

Though their number used to be less than the hoardings carrying pho-tos of Nitish dotting the landscape of the state capital now, yet the the latter would then take a high moral ground. He would suggest that he never believes in such propaganda method. It is other thing that his government used to spend many times more amount annually on advertisements to newspapers and electronic channels than the previous Rabri Devi government.

The then partner, BJP, would relish this huge expenditure and would find no fault with this extravaganza. The media, the direct beneficiary of this bonanza, would treat Nitish and his company, both in the JD(U) and BJP, as darling.

When Narendra Modi launched his Chai Pe Charcha and other cam-paign the present Bihar chief minister would say that such tricks would not work in his state and that the people would vote for him on the basis of his government’s performance. He would question the expenditure of thousands of crores by the BJP during the election campaign of 2014.

But on the eve of this year’s Assembly election he had wooed the brain behind the saffron party’s campaign, Prashant Kishor.

When Narendra Modi used to tweet Nitish would ridicule him. It is other thing that a few months later he started using the same social media to put up his views and counter the saffron brigade.

The media blitz launched by the state government as well as the rul ing Janata Dal (United) are in some way unique than others. Though the BJP is criticizing this campaign and had even moved the Election Commission to seek ban on Badh Chala Bihar campaign of the state government as it was launched ahead of the council election, the truth is that the saffron party is not too aggressive in its attack as it has to do the same. Its only worry is how Nitish managed to win over Prashant and too lead in the campaign.

Today RJD is not criticizing Nitish and not reminding him of his past utterances against hoardings of Lalu Prasad as both the brothers have got united.

So in the days to come parties would go unchallenged in their election campaign. The civil society groups too are not going to speak strongly against it.
