Patna,(BiharTimes): After Anant Singh another ruling JD(U) MLA was on Saturday arrested.

Sunil Pandey, who represents Tarari (Bhojpur district) in Bihar Assembly, was arrested in connection with the escape of a bomb blast case accused, Lambu Sharma, from a court in Ara on January 23.

Pandey was arrested from the office of the Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur, where he had gone to meet.

The SP Navin Chand Jha told the media that the legislator has been handed over to Town police station for further action.

As reported the MLA, who had links to Ranvir Sena too, was arrested on the basis of a confessional statement of Lambu Sharma, to Delhi police after his arrest in the national capital.

Lambu Sharma had escaped from custody along with another prisoner Akhilesh Upadhyaya while being produced in Ara court on January 23, last following an explosion triggered by a human bomb. Two persons, including a policeman, were killed and around two dozen were injured in the incident.

Upadhyaya was arrested soon, but Lambu Sharma remained an absconder and was arrested in New Delhi by a joint team of Bihar Police and Delhi Police on June 24 and was later brought back to Ara and kept in jail.

Lambu told police Sunil Pandey had facilitated his escape from judicial custody.
