Nitish bats for Delhi’s statehood after meeting Kejriwal

Patna,(BiharTimes): After meeting his Delhi counterpart at Delhi Se-cretariat Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday batted for its full statehood.

Talking to the media in Delhi he said Janata Dal (United) would coor-dinate with other parties to raise the issue in Parliament. He reiter-ated that Delhi should get full statehood status as people know those whom they have give their votes and hold them responsible. They do not understand the minor details of the administration.

The Bihar chief minister said the people in general do not know that law and order and police are not under the control of the Delhi gov-ernment.

As on Monday in Patna Nitish said the the government is accountable to people and the chief minister should have the power to choose chief secretary and departmental secretaries.

Nitish’s second meeting with Arvind Kejriwal in a few months has a significant political meaning as he expects the latter to campaign in Bihar ahead of the Assembly election.
