Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) on Thursday strongly criticized the Union home ministry’s decision to provide Y-category security to controversial expelled RJD MP, Pappu Yadav.

Party spokesman Neeraj Kumar in a statement asked as to how can the Narendra Modi government take such a decision against the man who had such a questionable past. Pappu is simply being rewarded keeping in mind the coming Assembly election in Bihar. He is about tojoin the NDA.

Ironically Pappu’s acquittal in a high profile murder case was sometimes back challenged by the CBI––which also comes under the Union home ministry––in court.

Now the home ministry has decided to upgrade his security citing threats from political rivals, criminals and Maoists.

Pappu will now have 11 personnel protecting him.

A few weeks back the Centre provided Z-category security to former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Both these moves are being interpreted as political.
