Lalu, Shyam Rajak blame Narendra Modi for ban on Dalit body
in IIT-Madras
Patna,(BiharTimes): RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Bihar’s food
minister and a Janata Dal (United) leader belonging to
Scheduled Castes, Shyam Rajak, on Friday strongly denounced
the action of banning a Dalit outfit by IIT-Madras management
on the directive of the Union human resources development
ministry.
While Lalu tweeted to flay the Narendra Modi government for
this undemocratic action Shyam Rajak, in a statement,
questioned the very move to ban a Dalit organization simply
because it has a different stand on beef-eating and
criticized the policy of the NDA government. He said that
this is worse than Emergency.
This is suppression of Dalit voice, which is an illegal and
unauthorized act, he added.
It needs to be mentioned that the IIT-Madras has banned the
Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle (APSC), which was mobilising
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students against the
Narendra Modi
government’s policies.
Media reports from New Delhi and Chennai said that IIT-Madras
banned the organization on the complaint of criticising Modi
and spreading hatred against Hindus.
IIT-Madras took the action following an anonymous complaint
which said that the Dalit outfit had criticised the Central
government’s policies and spread “hatred” against Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and Hindus.
The prestigious technical education institute acted after the
Union human resource development ministry forwarded the
