Nitish backs BJP’s ‘Marg Darshak’ Advani on his statement on Emergency

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday strongly supported the concern of BJP “supreme leader and member of Marg Darshak Mandal” Lal Krishna Advani that Emergency-like situationcould emerge again in the country.

Talking to the media on the sidelines of an agriculture and foodprocessing conclave he said Advani’s concerns should be considered seriously. As far as Emergency- like situation is concerned, “we are facing it here on a daily basis.”

However, he did not explain as to what he meant by “we are facing ithere on a daily basis.”

“If Marg Darshak of the party has no faith, what should be said about others,” Nitish wondered.

He charged that the Narendra Modi government is unable to fulfil allthe promises made by the BJP leaders during the election campaign and are, therefore, finding it difficult to rule the country.

They talk of Jungle Raj in Bihar; what about their own Mangal Raj in which those (referring to Lalit Modi) involved in the black-money are being granted favour by the top ministers. After the completion of one year in office they boasted that there is no scam. What is this if not scam? the Bihar CM asked.

“Why this plea of humanitarianism for a fugitive. Why no humanitarian approach towards those whose land are acquired, he asked.

Nitish questioned the silence of Narendra Modi, which according tohim, confirms his approval.

Advani had, in an interview to an English daily, said, "Forces that can crush democracy are stronger...I don’t have the confidence it(Emergency) cannot happen again.”

In the Lalit Modi-Sushma Swaraj episode the chief minister has got an opportunity to come down heavily on his bête noire and that too so close to the Assembly election in Bihar.

But by backing Advani on the issue of Emnergency Nitish has once again shown his softness towards the BJP patriarch, whose Jan Chetna Yatrathe Bihar chief mininister had flagged off on October 11, 2011, that is  the birthday of JP from Sitab Diara, the latter’s birth place.

But his alliance partner, the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, was responsible for the arrest of Advani during the Somath to Ayodhya Yatra in 1990.Then both Nitish and Lalu were in the same party.
