Outgoing Patna SSP names JD(U) MLA Anant Singh in murder case

Patna,(BiharTimes): Hours after his transfer from the post of SSP Patna, Jitendra Rana, on Tuesday told the newspersons that the Mokama Janata Dal (U) MLA, Anant Singh, is involved in a murder case in Barh.
In fact his name figured in the abduction of four youths, one of whom was killed later.
He said that the role of the MLA would be investigated.
Incidentally, immediately after interacting with the media Jitendra Rana, who was transferred late on Monday evening, proceeded to take up charge as the new SP of East Champaran.
He has been replaced here by Vikas Vaibah.
According to the outgoing SSP four persons arrested in connection with the abduction of four youths and subsequent murder of Pawan Yadav, one of the abducted person, on June 17 have taken the name of Mokama MLA, Anant Singh.
Anant Singh, considered close to chief minister Nitish Kumar has been under investigation in the case, Rana said.
The timing of SSP’s transfer has raised suspicion and the political parties have strongly criticized the Nitish Kumar government for protecting the controversial MLA.
Jan Adhikar Party leader and Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav alleged that Rana was moved out of Patna within three months of his posting under the pressure of Anant Singh.
He sought CBI probe into the incident and said he would soon meet the Governor in this regard.
