JD(U) seeks review on EC’s ban on Badh Chala Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Janta Dal (United) secretary general K C Tyagi and former diplomat-turned-Rajya Sabha MP Pavan Kumar Varma on Monday

met the Chief Election Commissioner, Naseem Zaidi, in New Delhi and urged him to review the decision of banning the Jan Samwad programme, Badh Chala Bihar.

According to the two they told the CEC that the Jan Samwad is entirely the Bihar government initiative and a non-party programme. Its aim is to elicit people’s opinion for the preparation of a Vision Document, 2025.

As reported the state election commission had on June 20 imposed a ban on the programme till the completion of the State Legislative Council polls due on July 7.

The two leaders urged the CEC that the direction issued by chief electoral officer, Bihar, should be immediately reviewed, especially in the light of the point-by-point clarification provided by the Bihar government.

After the ban the 400 trucks flagged off on June 18 across the state were called back. They are at present stationed on Strand Road, near the residence of senior JD(U) leader RCP Singh.
