Nitish’s role in protecting Anant Singh should be probed: Manjhi

Patna,(BiharTimes): Stating that Anant Singh should have been arrested the day he threatened to eliminate the then chief minister (that is, he himself) the president of Hindustani Awam Morcha, Jitan Ram Manjhi, sought probe into the role of chief minister Nitish Kumar in protecting the Mokama MLA.

Talking to the media after his return from New Delhi on Thursday Manjhi said the arrest should have been made much earlier. He said that Anant Singh was arrested under the pressure from RJD chief Lalu Prasad because Pappu Yadav had strongly taken up the case.

According to Manjhi when Pappu went to the village and gave Rs two lakh to the family members of the victim Lalu woke up to realize that Yadavs would go out of his hand.

Manjhi charged that throughout this period Anant Singh enjoyed the patronage of Nitish Kumar and his role should be investigated.

He also flayed the transfer of Patna SSP, Jitendra Rana, when the latter named the Mokama MLA as one of those responsible for the abduction-cum-murder in Barh.

Meanwhile, road construction minister and JD(U) leader, Lallan Singh, denied that Anant Singh was arrested under pressure from the alliance partner, Lalu Prasad.

He told the mediapersons that law would take its won course and nobody responsible for violating law would be spared. He said that no compromise whatsoever would be made on good governance (susashan).
