Mafia showing govt land as their own to seek compensation: BJP MLC

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party MLC, Satyendra Narayan Singh, on Tuesday said, land mafia are showing ‘ghair marzua aam’ category of government land in survey as their own by manipulating municipality records and are thus getting compensation for it during its acquisition for development purposes.

They sought recovery of such compensation money, which has been paid to them.According to the MLC the mafia then illegally get it registered in their own name, take monetary compensation when the state government starts acquiring it.Singh suggested that reference to land details shown in cadastral survey (a comprehensive register of the real estate) should be made mandatory at land registration offices across the state to check the mafia.

State Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav assured the House that the state government is paying attention to the issue and many public servants including Circle Officers have been suspended.He said the state government directed all district collectors through a letter sent on March 16 last to prepare a list of ‘ghair marzua aam’, ‘ghair marzua malik’ and all other types of government land and provide it to registration offices.
