Will not attend all-party meeting if invited like ‘chaprasi’: Nand Kishore

Patna,(BiharTimes): The main opposition in Bihar Assembly, the Bharatiya Janata Party, boycotted the all-party meeting called by chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday evening. The meeting was called on ‘loss’ accruing to Bihar after the recommendations of 14th Finance Commission.

Talking to the media the leader of opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, said that “we are not ‘chaprasi’ who would attend any meeting which has no agenda. If opposition parties are called there should be an agenda.”

He said that he was invited over phone at about 12:00 in the mid-noon. This is not the way all party meetings are called. On the other hand the leader of opposition in the Legislative Council, Sushil Kumar Modi, accused the chief minister of playing politicsin view of coming Assembly election. He said he and Nand Kishore Yadav would not attend the all-party meeting on 14th Finance Commission recommendations as instead of thanking the NDA government at the Centre for providing a huge sum of money by way of share in central taxes, Nitish was ‘cursing’ it to score political point.

According to him the 14th Finance Commission has recommended to provide the highest amount of money to Bihar after Uttar Pradesh. The amount is three times more than what Gujarat would get.

Not only that, Bihar would get four times more fund for its panchayati raj bodies and urban local bodies than it used to get on the basis of the recommendations, he claimed.SuMo said in the Railway as well in General Budgets the interests of Bihar have been promoted by the Narendra Modi government.

However, senior minister Vijay Chaudhary denied that Nand Kishore was invited like a ‘chaprasi’ and said due respect was paid to him while extending invitation.
