Mega-merger not far away, claims Nitish


Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar claimed on Saturday that mega-merger of the different parties of Janata Parivar is not far away.Talking to the media here he termed his two-day Delhi trip as successful.Commenting on merger talks with leaders in Delhi he said: “gaddi patri par hai aur chal padi hai” (The train is on track and has whistled off).


For the first time since Kumar became the chief minister again last month, he made it clear that the JD-U and RJD merger was still on the cards.

Earlier, Kumar refuted reports that the RSS had asked BJP bigwigs to restore ties with the Janata Dal (United) in Bihar.

He also said the merger would certainly take place and the six "Janata Parivar" parties would constitute a united force.

Nitish said that he met Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday. The Samajwadi Party chief would hold talks with former prime minister Deve Gowda and former Haryana CM, Om Prakash Chautala. He said talks in Delhi were very fruitful.Referring to his talks with prime minister Narendra Modi the Bihar chief minister said that the former listened to his view on the recommendations of 14th Finance Commission and special category status patiently.

"It will be completed soon," the Bihar CM said, adding that the merger talks were in the final stage.
