Five from Bihar in 100 smart cities

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Biharsharif and Muzaffarpur are among the 100 urban centres included in the list of smart cities of the country.They would get assistance from the central government to improve the urban living facilities for the common citizens.


The Union government has proposed to allocate Rs 100 crore annually to each of them in the next five years to develop them as smart cities by 2022.These cities will have 24-hour power supply, good storage and drainage system with more public toilets. They will have super-speciality hospitals and efficient waste disposal system as well as housing blocks with parks, transport facilities, including ring bus services as well as wi-fi connectivity in public areas.


Commuters in the smart cities would be alerted about road jams or traffic bottlenecks anywhere in the city in advance by automated control room.
