HAM leaders put up united face amidst reports of differences

Patna,(BiharTimes): In spite of reports of serious differences all the senior leaders of Hindustani Awam Morcha, who met for three hours on Saturday evening, put up a united face and apparently reposed full faith in the leadership of former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

According to HAM spokesman, Rajiv Ranjan, they all expressed solidarity with Manjhi and authorized him to take decisions regarding registration of HAM as a political party and name its office-bearers from block to state level.Rajiv Ranjan said the party would launch its programme in all the 243 Assembly segments from May 15.

He denied reports that some HAM leaders are willing to contest on the BJP ticket by stating that all of them reposed full faith in Manjhi. But HAM’s chief spokesman Nitish Mishra, one of those who favour pre-poll alliance with the BJP, said that the former CM has also been authorized to decide on alliance with any political party before or after the Assembly polls.

Earlier, reports were doing the rounds in Patna that except Brishen Patel and Mahachandra Prasad Singh, almost all the top HAM leaders have made up their mind to contest on the BJP ticket or are in favour of pre-poll alliance with the saffron party. They are keeping their cards close to their chest and waiting for final merger of the JD(U) and RJD.The lone Muslim HAM leader, Shahid Ali Khan, is likely to join Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, a constituent of the NDA.
