Recovering doctor couple a challenge for my government: Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Reiterating that good governance continues to be the basic mantra of his government chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Tuesday that recovering the abducted Gaya doctor and his wife is a challenge which it has accepted.

Talking to the media before flying to New Delhi to attend the meeting of Janata Parivar he asked the people to maintain patience.

“Let the police do its work. It is leaving no stone unturned. The state government would do everything and the result would soon be there,” he said.Earlier he held meeting with the chief secretary and director general of police.

On Monday black flags were shown to the chief minister when he visited Bodh Gaya to attend the Buddha Purnima celebration. The protestors were led by the Gaya Town BJP MLA, Prem Kumar.Nitish later met the brother of the abducted doctor and assured him of the government’s action. The government on Tuesday made a shake up of administration. One of the officials transferred is the Gaya SP.

Nitish also told newsmen that perhaps it is not in his luck to go to Nepal in the hour of crisis. He was not going there for the sake of tourism. Earlier too during the time of 2008 flood when he sought permission to visit the Himalayan republic he was denied permission.

“Had I been allowed to go there the prestige of India would have increased,” he said.
