Nitish urges Mulayam to call meeting of the merger committee


Patna,(BiharTimes): Stating that he perceived no technical hitch over merger of the parties of Janata Parivar, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday urged Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to convene a meeting of the merger


committee to clear the air and end the public debate over the matter after the recent statement by its general secretary, Ram Gopal Yadav, and subsequent comments by RJD leaders Lalu Prasad and Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.


Talking to the media Nitish said that if there is certainly some technical issues they should be sorted out in a meeting of six members of the committee constituted in the last meeting on April 15. He said the chapter is still not closed.Brushing aside Ram Gopal Yadav’s comments Nitish said it was personal views that were advisory in nature and not the statement of his party and added JD(U) was committed to the merger.


According to him the merger is complete and Mulayam Singh Yadav has been declared its head. There is no question of going back on it.
