Patna,(BiharTimes): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not contest the Assembly election of Bihar to be held later this year.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, Bihar-Jharkhand affairs in charge of the party, Sanjeev Jha, who is an MLA from Burari in Delhi, said that at present his party is not in a position to contest the Assembly election in this state.

But it would support candidates who have a clean image, who do not have criminal record and who do not indulge in caste-based politics. The AAP leader clarified that his party’s choice would be based solely on the character of candidates, not party affiliations.

According to him AAP’s prime agenda for Bihar at this stage is to form strong committees at various levels. This work would be over in next two to three months. The existing district, zonal and state committees of the party have been dissolved.
