Patna,(BiharTimes): The president of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, Ashok Chaudhary, said that Nitish Kumar is the best face for the post of chief minister for the secular parties of Bihar.

Talking to the media after an hour long meeting with Nitish Kumar he said that since Lalu Prasad has legal obstacle none can be better candidate for the post of CM than Nitish Kumar.The Congress leader once again stressed the need for the secular unity before the Assembly election in Bihar.Chaudhary said that he apprised the chief minister of the situation in Bihta where farmers are on warpath against the government policies towards them. He met those farmers recently.

Though both Nitish and Chaudhary said it was a courtesy call as the chief minister underwent eye-surgery in New Delhi last Thursday observers are attaching political meaning to it.To bargain his position vis-à-vis Lalu Prasad the Bihar chief minister has extended his hand of friendship towards the Congress. But the Congress seems to be in dilemma as JD(U)’s popularity rating is much less than RJD.Besides, Lalu is a time-tested and much more accommodative than Nitish, who as the CM, always talks with a position of strength.
