Lalu says Jayalalithaa type acquittal can bring him back in CM race

Patna,(BiharTimes): Though RJD chief Lalu Prasad said on Wednesday that neither he nor any member of his family is in the race for the post of chief minister he dropped enough hint that in future his candidature can not be ruled out.

Talking to the media in Patna after returning from Delhi he said if he gets acquitted like Jayalalithaa, he can also be a candidate for the posts of chief minister and Prime Minister. He also asked as tp how can he stop if any member of his family wants to go ahead in politics.

The RJD chief clarified that he was not adamant on the number of seats his party would contest. But hastened to add that Raghuvansh Babu was not wrong when he said the RJD was entitled to contest 145 seats. He was only stating the facts. The RJD chief was still reluctant to speak about the merger or alliance or seat sharing with the JD(U). “I am convicted…Had I any ‘khot’ had I supported Nitish Kumar twice,” he said. On the issue of the chief ministerial candidate, Lalu said: "There are no differences among the secular outfits. We should not make it an issue of ego. We will sit together after the elections to decide on who will be the chief minister."

He also said that by suggesting the name of Jitan Ram Manjhi he means that all the secular forces should come together. Nitishji invivted CPI but it went to another front. However, both on Wednesday in Patna and on Tuesday in Delhi Lalu was reluctant to speak about the merger or alliance with the JD(U).
