End communalism this Durga Puja, says Lalu Prasad

Patna, Oct 20 (IANS) Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Tuesday called on people of Bihar to celebrate Durga Puja this year by ending communalism and defeating the BJP-led NDA in the ongoing state assembly polls.

"People in Bihar would celebrate Durga Puja this year with 'Sampradaikta Vadh' to send a clear message to end the present day (demon king) Ravan," Lalu told the media here minutes before leaving Patna to address eight rallies in different assembly constituencies in Vaishali and Saran districts.

Upbeat after reports about two of five phases of the polls in Bihar indicated the grand alliance of the JD-U, RJD and Congress, has an edge over the BJP-led NDA, Lalu said people across the state want to live in peace, without communal tension.

"Some people have already cast their votes and many more would cast their votes in coming days to defeat the communal forces," Lalu said.

Lalu said one thing is certain that communal forces led by the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have failed in Bihar to polarise voters on their agenda. "We have exposed their real face on reservation issue to development and false promises."

Fifty assembly constituncies go to polls in the third phase on October 28, followed by the fourth phase on November 1 for 55 seats and fifth phase on November 5 for 57 seats.
