Train-trip to BJP-ruled states a new saffron tactic to woo voters

Patna,(BiharTimes): In a unique type of campaign about half a dozen jam-packed special trains left Patna for various destinations in the BJP ruled states. One of them left for Mumbai on Wednesday.
These trains have been hired by an NGO having link with the Bharatiya Janata Party. People from all over Bihar, especially youths, have been selected for this free-ride to Mumbai and other places as a part to educate them about the “development works” undertaken by the BJP-ruled states.
A political observers dubbed it as a pleasure-cum-orientation-cum-training programme of RSS cadres as all those who were taken are quite active on social media and other fields.
But then, reports say, not all of them are RSS cadres. There are many people who have been taken just for the sake of fun so that they may vote for the BJP after returning from the trip.
Reports suggest that more such trains may follow.
Sources close to the BJP concede that it is a part of Mission Bihar campaign of the party.
While the BJP leader Hari Manjhi accepted that this mission has been going on for the last 15 days or so another party leader Kiran Ghai feigned ignorance about it. She only said that if some youths want to learn about the development pattern in other states what is wrong in it.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Janata Dal (United) Ajay Alok strongly denounced such type of campaign. Terming it as an election jehad he said let them do whatever they want to do. Just see how low they have gone.
He charged that Rs 50 lakh have been spent on hiring just one such train.
Stating that the people of the state would soon understand the design of the BJP he said it is rightly said that these people can even sell the country for the sake of power.
“What type of tourism is this: religious or jehadi. The Election Commission should take notice of it,” he said.
What surprises media analysts is the low media coverage given to such a massive and unique campaign to influence voters.
