EC shifts Amir Subhani, Vikas Vaibhav is back as Patna SSP

Patna,(BiharTimes): Weeks after the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded the transfer of Amir Subhani the Election Commission on Friday evening shifted him out and made the 1983 batch IAS officer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh as the new Home Secretary of Bihar.

The Election Commission also brought back Pratima Verma and Vikas Vaibhav as the district magistrate and SSP of Patna. They were transferred by the Nitish Kumar government only two days before August 30 Swabhiman rally in Patna. Pratima was transferred then only after being DM for 12 days and Vikas as SSP for 64 days. The latter had arrested the then JD(U) MLA, Anant Singh in June last.

Amir Subhani, who is also Secretary in charge of the General Administrative Department, has been holding the post of Home Secretary for about six years––barring a brief period during Jitan Ram Manjhi rule.

He was reinstated earlier this year after Nitish Kumar became CM again.

The Election Commission also transferred nine district magistrtes and seven IPS officers, including SSPs and Superintendents of Police.

The EC order said those transferred from districts should not be posted to any election-related post.
The state Chief Secretary has been asked to send the Election Commission with a compliance report within 24 hours along with copies of transfer orders.
