Lalu’s brother-in-law to campaign against Tej Pratap, Tejaswi

Patna,(BiharTimes): RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s brother-in-law (sala) and former Rajya Sabha MP, Subhas Yadav, on Monday not only joined Pappu Yadav’s Jan Adhikar Party, but also announced that he would campaign against his two nephews Tej Pratap and Tejaswi, who are contesting from Mahua and Raghopur Assembly constituencies respectively.

Lalu’s second brother-in-law and former Lok Sabha MP, Sadhu Yadav, has already floated his own party after initial bonhomie with some BJP bigwigs, including Narendra Modi.

Subhas quit from the party a couple of months before the 2010 Assembly election after he was denied re-nomination to the Rajya Sabha.

Earlier, Sadhu left the RJD after he was denied a ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Last year he even threatened to contest against his own sister Rabri Devi from Saran parliamentary constituency.

After joining Pappu’s outfit in a function at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall, Subhash said he would campaign for the party, even if any member of his family is contesting against its candidates. The party is always bigger than family, he added.

Earlier this month, Lalu’s youngest son-in-law and Samajwadi Party MP, Tej Pratap, had said that he would not hesitate in campaigning against his ‘salas’ in Mahua and Raghopur if the party asks him to do so.

Jan Adhikar Party has fielded Jageshwari Rai from Mahua. Rai crossed over to Pappu’s outfit from RJD after he was denied ticket. He had contested this seat on an RJD ticket in 2010.

However, it is still not clear which among the six parties of the third front would contest from Raghopur. But Subhash would campaign against Tejaswi even if his own party’s candidate does not get ticket.

Apart from Subhash, former MLA Ram Naresh Singh, LJP state general secretary Lallan Singh, JD(U) MLA Meena Diwedi, former Biharsharif MLA Pappu Khan and former Union minister and senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh’s cousin Raghupati also joined Jan Adhikar Party.
