Patna,(BiharTimes): The Additional District and Sessions Judge of Gaya, Ganesh Singh, on Thursday formally charged RJD MLA from Atri, Kunti Devi, with murder of JD(U) activist Sumarik Yadav.

Kunti, along with her two sons Ranjit and Vivek, allegedly killed Sumarik on the evening of February 26, 2013 in the Atri police station area of Gaya district.

A case was registered against Kunti and her two sons. As per the FIR, while Kunti Devi ordered her sons to kill Sumarik, the latter allegedly carried out the act.

Sumirak was beaten with iron rods and lathis and succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

While Vivek is still absconding Ranjit is currently in jail. He surrendered early this year after assaulting a doctor. It was RJD chief Lalu Prasad who reportedly admonished Kunti called upon her to ask his son to surrender after the IMA threatened to go on state-wise strike.

Kunti’s husband Rajendra Yadav, is already in jail in another murder case.
